Don’t have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ or any of those paid streaming services, but want to enjoy some Jane Austen content for free? I’ve got just the list for you!

As you will come to know, I am what one may call a Janeite aka an enthusiast of Jane Austen’s work who always love to find new adaptations of her novels to watch or listen to. It always amazes me how during her lifetime Jane Austen wrote less than a dozen novels and yet we have hundreds of adaptations ranging from movies, to books, to theater plays and audio drama to name a few!

For the last few years, and mostly the last few months, while scrolling on YouTube to find some of her work, I came accross various movie/TV adaptations of her most famous novels, and thought I’d share them with you for your next Austen binge-watch. Tell me if you know any of them or if you have any suggestions!

Hey ! Vous finirez par le remarquer, mais je suis ce qu’on pourrait appeler une Janeite, càd une amatrice du travail de Jane Austen (qui est d’ailleurs l’une des mes auteures préférées). Elle n’aura écrit en tout qu’une petite dizaine de romans et nouvelles dans sa vie, mais ça n’empêche pas les centaines d’adaptations que l’on a aujourd’hui. Quasiment chaque année il y en a de nouvelles : livres, séries, films, pièces de théâtre… de quoi faire découvrir le travail de Jane Austen et faire plaisir aux Janeites !
Pas besoin d’abonnement à Prime, Netflix ou Disney+ pour découvrir les adaptations filmiques des romans de Jane Austen car certaines sont disponibles sur YouTube et je vous partage les meilleures ici aujourd’hui. Bon visionnage !
