Paintings and books spotted in Paris

Hey dear readers! Today I thought I’d share with you the little Parisian escapade I did a few weeks ago and the books I spotted at a very special library. Get your TBR at the ready, you might want to add a few ones in there after reading this.

Now I have to tell you, although I am from France, Paris is not at all my favourite city. I must say that.. I do not like it at all *hides in French*. However it being the French capital, there is a lot of sites and places to visit, and so that is what I did!

I brought my Kodak M35 and took a few pictures with it. This was edited on Lightroom using Mossonyi presets

I was actually in Chapelle-La-Reine at first, which is 1h30 away from Paris, for a fashion photoshoot I was coordinating. It was quite the journey, from Paris Gare de Lyon, especially since I was bringing all the clothes, shoes and bags with me in two super-packed suitcases! The muscles were working and the sweat was sweaaating!

I wore my new fuzzy bob hat – which I love at the moment & took my dynamic duo of blue suitcases aka lesbluesuitcases.

Anyway, I thought I’d take advantage of this trip to stay in the capital for the weekend, sightsee a little and visit my sister and nieces who live nearby.
I went to Le Musée d’Orsay to say hi to the work of my favourite painter (spoiler alert: it’s Monet).

Then I went to Smith & Son, an independent English library. I loooved this place so much, it was like being transplanted back in Kingston upon-Thames, when I used to spend hours at WHSmith. Smith & Son was like a little corner of England in the North of France.

The first thing that drew my eyes when I entered the bookshop was, unsurprisingly, the corner with beautiful hardcovers of timeless English authors’ books: Brontë, Dickens, Gaskell and of course Austen.

Now for the books that I spotted and added to my ever expanding TBR, except for Persuasion which I almost know by heart now! I just really liked the cover!

Now for the bonus part! Look the gold I spotted on the first floor of Smith & Son! Can you guess which one I got?

Have you ever been on a solo escapade in Paris? Which are your favourite spots to go to? Let me know in the comments!
